Our History
_Eta Chi Gamma was founded on the New York Institute of Technology Central Islip Campus in 2001.
In October of 2000, five young ladies set out to establish an organization they could call their own; a true testament to the meaning of friendship, honor, respect, and lifelong commitment. After building a strong foundation, the ladies set out to overcome the minds opposed to starting Eta Chi Gamma. With hard work, which was to become the backbone of the organization, the ladies met their goal: Eta Chi Gamma was officially recognized in May 2001.
One year later, in the Spring of 2002, the foundation of the sisterhood became stronger with six equally determined young ladies. Eta Chi Gamma became a presence to be seen and heard. With each class accepted, the friendship and sisterhood grew bigger and better.
Even as the sisters grow, not only in numbers, but also in experience and on individual levels, they still hold true to the standards first set out before them.

Philanthropy
_In the fall semester the ladies have
many fundraisers and informational events for Breast Cancer Awareness.
They also participate in Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Jones
Beach every year.
In the Spring semester they turn their attention toward The National Multiple Sclerosis Association (NMSA). Not many know or are fully aware of the disease. They attend many of the NMSA's many walks and "thons" to raise awareness.
